The Planning & Zoning Commission is a nine-member elected board, created via Town Charter (Chapter 19, Section IV), which is responsible for:

  1. Creating/updating, and continual stewardship of, Ridgefield's Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD); and
  2. Creating/amending Ridgefield's Zoning Regulations (as well as our Zoning Maps, Subdivision Regulations, and other related regulations); and
  3. Hearing and deciding upon "Special Permit" applications, based on our regulations and POCD (noted above), as well as state statutes and other laws.
